Dr. Mohamed Mliless is an independent Moroccan scholar specializing in ecolinguistics and critical environmental discourse analysis. He holds a PhD in applied linguistics from Moulay Ismail University in Meknes, Morocco. His research engages deeply with the intersection of language, environment, and social justice, contributing to the emerging field of ecolinguistics with a distinctive focus on Global South perspectives. Dr. Mliless’s interdisciplinary work spans ecolinguistics, media literacy, environmental communication, and the linguistic framing of ecological issues. He is the author and coauthor of numerous scholarly publications, including books and peer-reviewed articles that examine environmental discourse, legal rhetoric, and media narratives. Notable among his contributions are chapters in Ecolinguistics, Social Justice, and Sustainability and Environmental Awareness and Governance, which challenge Western-centric paradigms and foreground voices and ecologies from the Global South. His scholarship is recognized for its critical and integrative approach, bridging applied linguistics, environmental studies, and media analysis. Through this work, Dr. Mliless provides valuable insights into the discursive mechanisms shaping environmental awareness, policy, and public perception, particularly in Moroccan and broader MENA contexts. In addition to his research, Dr. Mliless plays an active role in academic publishing. He serves on the editorial boards of several journals, including the Scopus-indexed ARBITRER. He is also a member of the editorial management team and a reviewer for the Scopus-indexed International Journal of Educational Research Open (Science Direct) and serves as a reviewer for the International Journal of Police Science (IJPS), the International Journal of Research and Innovation in Social Science (IJRISS), and BP International (India).
